As I sit at my desk I so often hear comments that make me want to either shake my head, laugh, or cry. Working for a small company where almost everyone is pretty liberal has been an education. And the past month has been painful, all the discussion has been about the election, and there has been A LOT of discussion…

I thought it would end by now, he won, be happy. I for one will try to keep my mind somewhat open until I have reason not to… But now the confusing stuff starts…

(Over heard) I don’t know why the stock market went down?!? Don’t those guys on Walstreet realize everything will be OK now?

((Me– shaking my head as I laugh under my breath…))

I think it is time for me to dig deeper into my American history and the Constitution. So much of what is happening today is relevant to our history. We need to stay awake and aware. We need to be vigilant, hopefully for no reason. But just in case, we have to watch for an eroding of our liberties.

It is time for people to participate in the “animating contest for freedom” of our age. What that means still is left to be seen…

We lost any hope of winning the election when we coincided the first battle. So many of us kept our mouths shut. We sat at our desks with our heads down when others were talking about Obama. We did not want to be called racist for our views. It was SO much easier just to say nothing, not to challenge the issues.

Of course, most people will not elect a person who sees the constitution as a “fundamentally flawed” document. The document is the backbone of our society…
